Chandigarh Filmmaker Shines at New York Indian Film Festival

Chandigarh-based emerging filmmaker, Lakshit Koushal, has earned a spot at the esteemed New York Indian Film Festival 2024 with his short film “Soluchan.” The film has received an invitation to premiere at the New Yorl Indian Film Festival, scheduled to take place in May-June this year. Son of a doctor, Lakshit pursued his passion for filmmaking after graduating with a Bachelor’s in Design in 2019, specializing in screenwriting, and eventually relocating to Mumbai.

National Film Archives (NFDC)

In collaboration with the National Film Archives (NFDC), Chandigarh College of Architecture students are collaborating to develop an immersive cinema installation in the Rose Garden Underpass, commemorating the centennial anniversary of Raj Kapoor and Dev Anand.

Furthermore, Chandigarh is set to host its inaugural international Chandigarh film festival, the Cinevesture International Film Festival (CIFF) at new york indian film festival, starting on March 27 and spanning five days.

The event will showcase a diverse selection of films from across the globe, promising to be a grand affair celebrating the best of international cinema across various genres, languages, and styles.

With a focus on providing a platform for both established and emerging filmmakers, CIFF 2024 will feature 24 award-winning international features, 17 independent gems in the India Unveiled section, 27 shorts in Brief Encounters, along with a curated selection of children’s films and timeless classics
