New Six Lane Road From Dhanas To New Chandigarh Opened On Trial Basis

The UT Administration has opened the Togan-Dhanas link road to the public for a trial period in order to identify and correct any deficiencies. Besides that, the completion of the main road construction allows faster access to New Chandigarh and Kurali.

According to a UT official, the main road construction is complete. Only a small amount of work on the slip road remained. Moreover, the official stated that a blind spot near the police complex would be removed. He stated that work on the cycle track was already underway and that the road would be inaugurated next month.

The road cost approximately Rs 7.50 crore to build. In fact, it runs from Mohali’s Togan village to the city’s Dhanas village. Not to mention, the road will greatly benefit people traveling to New Chandigarh.

Connectivity To Mullanpur Cricket Stadium

After 1.2 km of new construction toward Chandigarh, the six-lane road now links to Dakshin Marg. In contrast, on the Punjab side, it will link to the Baddi-Kurali road. Furthermore, the road is strategically connected to Dakshin Marg and the Baddi-Kurali road, allowing residents and visitors easy access. Well, this will improve connectivity to Chandigarh and the upcoming Punjab Cricket Stadium (PCA) in New Chandigarh, which will host domestic and international matches soon. Likewise, the stadium will most likely serve as the home ground for the Punjab Kings during the upcoming IPL season.

PCA Announcement

Meanwhile, the Punjab Cricket Association’s official X account shared a video highlighting the recent developments at Mullanpur Stadium. The video shows Dilsher Khanna giving a media tour of the stadium, emphasizing key areas such as the playing field, grandstands, and facilities for players and fans.

Similarly, the announcement guarantees that the Mullanpur Stadium will be ready to host IPL 2024 matches in the near future. “The wait is finally over!” “The PCA New Cricket Stadium will be ready in time for the IPL 2024.” This cements the stadium’s readiness to host domestic and international games.

Key Features of Mullanpur Cricket Stadium

According to reports, the Mullanpur Cricket Stadium has a seating capacity of around 30,000 people and parking for around 1800 cars. Additionally, there are currently 12 pitches under construction in the stadium’s center. On the other hand, the net session area is strategically located next to gate number one, the designated entrance for teams. Furthermore, the stadium has large player locker rooms with amenities such as a sauna bath, buffet area, shower facilities, and a massage area.

Conclusion

The Togan-Dhanas link road opening and Mullanpur Cricket Stadium advancements have improved regional infrastructure and facilities in the area. In fact, the trial period on the road allows for necessary adjustments, resulting in smooth and efficient travel. After all, the stadium’s progress bodes well for cricket fans, as it has the potential to host high-profile IPL matches. Finally, the changes reflect the region’s commitment to modernization and sporting excellence.
