NHAI Completes Single-Lane Flyover at Panchkula’s Sector 12/A, Industrial Area Phase-I Road, Connecting to Panchkula Zirakpur Flyover on the Himalayas Expressway. Expect to open soon.
Panchkula: The National Highway Authority of India has finished building the Panchkula Zirakpur flyover with a single-lane. The 610-meter flyover, known as the Sector 20 flyover, was constructed for Rs 13 crore to ease traffic in the city’s busiest section.
NHAI officials stated that the flyover’s construction is almost finished, with only final touches remaining before it opens to the public.
Official’s Statement about Panchkula Zirakpur Flyover
The official added that their target was to open the flyover on April 25. They said the flyover is 610 meters long and 7.5 meters wide. The deadline for completing the single-lane overhead was January 15, as scheduled for its construction.
However, constant rainfall and bad weather conditions last year caused delays in the construction of the single-lane overhead.
According to the authorities on Panchkula Zirakpur flyover news, a single-lane overhead will up to 40% lessen traffic at the sector-20 light point. The official said that people who want to go to the Punjab region or Delhi from Panchkula can use this bridge.
Panchkula’s Sector 20 has the highest number of residential housing societies in the city. Also, its residents have long been demanding a solution to the traffic congestion under the Sector 20 flyover.
Moreover, residents of sector 20, whose sole access point to their homes is this traffic junction, suffer traffic chaos in this area. Now, with this overbridge between Panchkula and Zirakpur, it will ease up the traffic problem.
Meanwhile, the welfare association brought up their concerns with the chief minister and deputy commissioner during their meeting.
Finally, the flyover between Panchkula and Zirakpur is now complete with a single-lane connector, improving access and easing traffic.
And, when the last phases of construction are finished, locals can expect the Himalayan Expressway to be easier and faster to travel on.
Thus, stay tuned for NewsChandigarh updates about the official opening and how it will affect the city’s transportation system.
